This course was designed to illuminate the importance of visual identity (aka branding) for aspiring musicians, label owners, and publicists. The course can be adopted to the available time frame and the knowledge and expertise of those participating in it. It can be presented as an introductory course on the history of music branding and the process of branding and music marketing or, it can be conducted in a way which strictly emphasizes the practical side of implementing visual identity: defining core narrative themes, transforming core narrative into visual ID, defining suitable tools for effective record PR, extending a lifespan of a record through the strategic use of promo tools, effectively working with designers and filmmakers (creating teams, budgeting, writing briefs) etc.
