Music Pool Berlin x Pop-Kultur: Starting Out and Breaking Through as a Music Creator
In a collaboration with Pop-Kultur, we look forward to talking about the experiences of artists and musicians as they take the first crucial steps on their career paths. What were the important points on the way to releasing your first EP or to your first concert or festival gig, and how are you currently continuing this path? We are excited to learn about different approaches in conversation with artists who have already successfully taken these steps. We are excited to share our experiences.
Music Pool Berlin is a hub for Berlin-based musicians and people working in the music business. Offering consultations and training by industry professionals and key players in the music scene, we provide musicians with information, experience, professional development and networking opportunities directly within the scene. Our goal is to help give each person the right tools to be better equipped to make a living in today’s music business.
Participating artists:
EVÎN - EVÎN is one of the most intriguing new voices in R&B. Inspired by artists like James Blake, FKA Twigs, Rosalía and Sufjan Stevens, the Berlin-based singer fuses elements from different genres with her Kurdish roots to create a distinctive sound that’s rarely heard. EVÎN performs at the Caystube at Pop-Kultur on Wed 30 August (free entry).
Krista Papista -The Cyprus-born, Berlin-based artist mixes traditional forms and aesthetics of conventional folklore into a challenging, queer, political shit-show. Krista Papista presents a new commissioned work at Pop-Kultur Festival on Wed 30. August.
»Asian Berlin Pussy Power« is what Neukölln’s Nashi44 purveys, providing empowering rhymes with a fierce, feminist edge. Her first single »Aus der Pussy« (»From the Pussy«) gave a universal answer to the question, »Where are you from?« – raising awareness of anti-Asian racism in the form of a vibey club banger. Nashi44 plays on Wed 30 August at Pop-Kultur.
