Melissa Perales moved from Chicago to Berlin in the 90s. Since then she has curated and organized an international film festival, various music festivals, owned her own restaurant, initiated organizations and platforms and began booking and promoting live shows and film screenings under the moniker M:Soundtrack. As a concert promoter she presents international up and coming artists with an emphasis on supporting local acts, marginalized artists and community building. M:Soundtrack has become a platform and meeting point within the Berlin independent music scene since 2004. Melissa is a board member of all2gethernow e.V., which has created various events in music culture since 2010. The biggest project has been, the Music Pool Berlin (2014) where she had the initial idea for MPB and was part of developing the project. Within the team she works as an orientation consultation. Her passion is both music and film therefore starting Supertape-Berlin was the likely result: a music supervision and consulting company which she runs together with the writer & producer, Sabine Steyer. She also dedicates herself to honary Jury work which she sees is a one way to honour the artists and colleagues which often go unseen or deserve support for their work. A great part of her resume since 1995, has been supporting the local music community in Berlin, advocating for equality in the music scene and creating events with an intersectional perspective. This advocate work has been featured and put in practice in her M:Soundtrack events and festivals like the co-curated, Torstrassenfestival, We Make Waves, Night School Berlin, Durchlüften festival and since 2024 welcoming the new series: Café Chocolat!

For Non-German/English speaking musicians and innovators: you are welcome to make appointments on Mondays, Wednesdays and fridays in the music pool calendar, German is also possible.
