Em Burrows
Em Burrows is a music producer, qualified educator, and music industry professional from Western Australia. She has worked in the Australian music sector for almost 20 years in many roles including ‘Audience Development Officer’ at West Australian Music. She is also the founder of ‘Avalon Berlin’; an international development program for West Australian artists. Community, connection, and a holistic approach is at the heart of Em’s practice. Her broad experience in creative strategising and management enables her to help artists get to the heart of their own artistic and professional intentions and to develop actionable pathways towards sustainable long term creative careers. Em is particularly passionate about empowering, educating, and supporting female artists.
As well as being a self-managed independent artist, Em is a record label owner (Group Therapy Records), community leader and gender equity advocate (Girls Rock! WA), experienced radio broadcaster, and podcast host (Wide Open Road: The West Australian Music Podcast). In 2022, she was nominated for Western Australia's most prestigious industry award, the Gold WAMi, for her contribution to the local music sector.
Em currently resides in Berlin.
