Maya Consuelo Sternel
Maya Consuelo Sternel is a musician, DJ, trained sound engineer and the first Ableton-certified trainer for software live. She produced electronic music, played theremin and was drummer and keyboarder in various bands for a long time. Under her stage name Donna Maya she publishes records and CDs, wrote film music for the movie "Kurz und Schmerzlos by Fatih Akim and composed turntable concerts for the Kammerphilharmonie and DJ. After graduating in audio engineering, she worked as an Engineer Assistant at Unique Recording on Times Square in New York. After completing her master's degree in Systematic Musicology and American Studies, she moved to Berlin in 2009 and founded UPSTART Electronic Music Education. She is a lecturer in music production at universities, schools and various cultural institutions, writes regularly for the magazine "Beat" and is the author of the book "Beat Programming".
